Location: Lynch Park – Ober St., Beverly, MA….Take Rte.128 North to exit 18(Route 22). Turn right onto Rte. 22 South. Follow Route 22 South for 1 mile. Take your 3rd left onto Corning Street (after you pass over the railroad tracks). Continue on Corning Street through 1st stop sign (Leonard’s Florist on right). Continue straight to 2nd stop sign crossing over Hale street onto East Corning Street and proceed to 3rd stop sign. Turn right at the 3rd stop sign onto Neptune Street (Neptune turns into Ober Street). At top of hill on your left you will see a stone wall. Take 2nd entrance on left, which is the main entrance to Lynch Park.

Courses: There will be 5 possible courses to paddle. Each race night, the Timekeeper will pull from a bag a marked golf ball which will be labeled #1 thru #5…this will be the course for the evening. The golf ball is then retired until all courses have been completed. At that point, the bag is refilled and a new draw begins. The actual race starts at 6:45 PM sharp….the Timekeeper is instructed to blow the whistle at 6:45 PM. It will be a LeMans start and finish at “The Wall”. You should leave yourself adequate time to get your boat in position and yourself prepared.

Course #1 – Circle Eagle Island – Distance 6.6 miles +/-
Course #2 – Circle Bowditch Ledge – Distance 5.9 miles +/-
Course #3 – Circle Coney Island and proceed to Black Rocks and circle it – back to the Wall – Distance 5.1 miles +/-
Course #4 – Circle Black Rocks – Distance 3.2 miles +/-. When the last paddler finishes, the Timekeeper will start a 5 minute rest period. At the end of the rest period, the next leg begins which will be to circle the Red Nun at the Jubilee YC put in – Distance 1.9 miles +/-…Total distance for the race is 5.1 miles. Total time of both legs will determine your place for the evening.
Course #5 – Circle Great Haste Rock – Distance 3.6 miles +/-. 5 minute rest period. Circle Red Nun at the Jubilee YC put in. Distance 1.9 miles +/-…Total distance for the race is 5.5 miles. Total time again determines your place.
Point System: 1st – 12 points; 2nd – 11 points; 3rd – 10 points; 4th – 9 points…All finishers get 1 point

Cost: $2.00 per boat per race.

Charts: NOAA Chart 13275 Salem and Lynn Harbors – Scale 1:25,000

Awards: You need to complete 10 races to be eligible for the League Champion Award and a ranking award. You can race as many races as you want…there are 15 possible races.
